Brian Courtenay’s passion for wildlife conservation is an important part of SATIB’s 30-year legacy. In this video, Brian discusses his ongoing dedication to educating a brand-new generation of conservationists in rural South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe.
Brian, who has worked with the Endangered Wildlife Trust (EWT), Elephants for Africa (EFA) and Oxford University/Wildcru on the Hwange Lion Project, is on a mission to educate children on the protection and preservation of Africa’s endangered wildlife, including pangolins, vultures and the vulnerable ground hornbill – through a fun and engaging comic series.
The VUSA comic strip is a booklet designed to explain and explore solutions around human-wildlife conflict (for example, stock loss due to wild carnivores or protecting crops from elephants) as well as delivering appropriate conservation messages to local school children in communities adjacent to national parks and protected conservation areas in southern Africa.
If you would like to support the project get in touch with Brian or SATIB today.
