Recommendations / Tips:

  • Ensure that infants are fully covered by a comprehensive, and current, travel insurance policy.
  • Ensure that all members of the party, including infants, have received all necessary inoculations, that are applicable to the countries visited, and that these are current.
  • Ensure infants’ passports are up-to-date as these have a shorter expiry date than adults’.
  • Carry further infants’ identification documentation e.g.: copies of birth certificates
  • Keep to hand specific medication and generic medication e.g.: liquid pain relief, allergy medication, sickness and travel sickness medication.
  • Keep track of infants, e.g.: attach GPS tracker to belt or shoe, attach parent/ guardians’ contact information on a card attached to shoe/belt comprising name, phone number, email address, local address.
  • Download ‘WhatsApp’ to a compatible cell phone to ensure communications capability whilst traveling in remote areas which may lack cell phone coverage.
