One of our esteemed boutique hotels were hosting a wedding on a weekend. On Saturday night a room was trashed by some unruly guests. Investigations have revealed that the guests put a towel over the lamp which caught alight during the night. Goodness knows what transpired in that room that night, but there were quite extensive damages to the carpets, tiles and the electrical fittings and lamps.
The claim was notified to SATIB on the Monday morning. The hotel was also fully booked for the next weekend, for a conference. SATIB had to move quickly to make sure that the room was tenantable by the Friday.
Being a remote location and with suppliers needing authorisation, stock available and the ability to carry out the work with strict deadlines SATIB had to pull out all the stops. By lunchtime on Tuesday the Insurers had agreed a settlement amount and the Client was able to authorise the replacement of carpets, electrical fittings etc. in time to make the deadline of Friday. The Client was paid on Wednesday morning.
